Privacy Policy

DataPulse is a Google Sheets add-on operated by Blue Sphere Capital (“we”, “us”). It watches the spreadsheet tabs you choose for formula errors and emails your chosen recipients when something breaks. This policy describes exactly what data the add-on handles, what reaches our servers, and what never does.

Your spreadsheet contents never leave your Google account. DataPulse runs inside your own Google account and emails from it. We receive only your email address and product usage events — never cell values, sheet names, or settings.

1. How DataPulse works with your Google data

DataPulse runs as an Apps Script add-on inside your own Google account. With the permissions you grant at install, it:

• Reads the spreadsheet tabs you select — solely to detect error cells (such as #REF! or #DIV/0!) and cells stuck loading. This scanning happens entirely within your Google account.
• Sends alert emails from your account to the recipients you configure. Alert emails contain the spreadsheet name, tab names, cell addresses, error types, and a link to the sheet — never cell values. These emails are sent by Google's infrastructure on your behalf and are not routed through, stored on, or visible to our servers.
• Stores your settings in your account — monitored tabs, recipients, and incident state are kept in your Google account's add-on storage, not on our servers.

2. What reaches our servers — the complete list

The add-on contacts exactly two endpoints on our backend:

The full set of event names: install, heartbeat (weekly), trial_started, trial_expired, incident_opened, incident_resolved, alert_sent, send_failed, upgrade_clicked, license_activated. Event names describe that something happened — never the spreadsheet, tab, cell, or error contents involved.

3. What is never transmitted or stored on our servers

• Cell values and formulas
• Sheet and tab names
• Spreadsheet names or IDs
• Your recipient lists and monitoring settings
• The contents of any alert email

4. Payments

Payments happen entirely on Stripe's hosted checkout; DataPulse never sees or stores card data. Upgrade links pre-fill your signed-in email address on Stripe's checkout page so your license lands on the right account (you can edit it there). Stripe shares the buyer's email address with us to activate the license. Stripe's handling of payment data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

5. Google API Services — Limited Use disclosure

DataPulse's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: data obtained through Google APIs (your spreadsheet contents) is used only to provide the user-facing error-monitoring feature you configured; it is not transferred to our servers or to any third party, not used for advertising, and not read by humans.

6. Data retention and deletion

Usage events and license records are retained while the product is operated. You may request deletion of your events and license data by emailing support@bluespherecap.com; requests are fulfilled within 30 days. Uninstalling the add-on stops all data collection immediately, and revoking DataPulse's access in your Google account permissions removes its access to your spreadsheets entirely.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties, with two narrow exceptions: Stripe processes payments (as described above), and our backend infrastructure provider (Supabase) stores the license records and usage events described in section 2 on our behalf.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change what data the add-on sends or stores, we will update this policy before the change ships and revise the effective date above. The one-sentence guarantee at the top is the standard every change is held to.
